What is Unity?
Unity is a way of life that integrates ancient wisdom and new thought. Originally it was not intended to be another 'religion' rather a spiritual lens and practical tool to activate the good within all faiths. "Unity is a link in the great educational movement inaugurated by Jesus Christ; our objective is to desert the truth in Christianity and prove it. The truth that we teach is not new, neither do we claim special revelations or discovery of new religious principles. Our purpose is to help and teach humanity to use and prove the eternal Truth taught by the Master."Mission Statement
The Holy Spirit is moving through the minds and hearts of the people in this Church. We experience a new sense of dedication, energy and power. Through the powerful action of the Holy Spirit, we attract multitudes of loving, open and receptive people. "Unity Society", as Montclair Unity Church was first known, began in Montclair on Gates Avenue in 1939 with the Reverend Gladys Stevenson.
Incorporated in 1951, our current church home was built in 1962 on donated land. On November 4, 1962, the first Sunday service was held in the sanctuary. Since that auspicious beginning, the size of the congregation has outgrown the capacity of the sanctuary, which was built to accommodate up to 65 people.
Montclair Unity Church became a member of the Association of Unity Churches in 1966. Following is a list of those who have so lovingly served Montclair Unity Church:

As Montclair Unity Church crosses the threshold of time, we are proud to represent the American dream of God's diversity. We are prayer based, committed to the artist in each person and revel in the here and now of the grace of God. Montclair Unity Church is committed to the divine unfoldment of the individual, the family, the community, the city, the state, the country and the world.
